USP is an independant scientific public health organization, recognized as Official Organization of normalization concerning drugs and health products manufactured or sold in the USA.
The VI Class of the USP is the most rigorous for non-prolonged contact with the human body.
The homologation is used especially for medical devices implanted for a short time.
